HBG Casting IMDB Self-Credit Policy

Created by HBG Casting LLC, Modified on Tue, 10 Jun at 10:12 AM by HBG Casting LLC

Stand-ins and background actors do not receive IMDb credit.

Productions follow a strict, pre-approved list of IMDb credits requiring creative and legal approval. Credits are carefully vetted, especially for network productions and festival submissions. An official cast list is submitted, and unauthorized additions can disrupt this process.

Do NOT add yourself to IMDb! We have a strict policy. This will affect consideration for future projects.

Making unauthorized changes to an IMDb page—whether for yourself or a production—can cause issues for producers and interfere with festival submissions. We do not want to receive notes from producers about improper IMDb listings or see actors marked as uncredited.

HBG Casting LLC – Three Strikes Policy

HBG Casting LLC enforces a Three Strikes You’re Out policy regarding IMDb adjustments.

  • If an actor modifies an IMDb page for a production we’ve worked on, that counts as one strike. This will result in not being considered for a period of 3 to 6 months.
  • A second offense results in not being considered for 6 months to 1 year.
  • 3 strikes will result in permanent removal from our casting opportunities.

Exceptions-

In rare cases, a featured background role may receive official IMDb credit, but this will be explicitly stated in the role description when casting. Plus, the credit would be given by production and NOT self-credited.

Do not alter an IMDb page in any manner. If you have questions about this policy, you may email us at HBGCasting@gmail.com Include the title of the production and date you worked.

  • On-screen end credits are sometimes given as a courtesy by the team—but this does NOT mean IMDb credit is automatic. Credit still requires proper submission and verification by the production. Again, Do NOT Self-Credit.

Thank you for your cooperation,
