Typically, the night before a shoot, background actors are notified of the location, call time, and information about where to park and what to bring. The details are uploaded to the site's booking section.
See below for more details about how everything works!
CALL TIMES
Various union regulations regarding working hours and turnaround time govern film and television productions.
In summary, the call time is based on the time the production wraps up the current shoot day. There must be a certain amount of time between the wrap and the first call the next day.
This means that casting can never be sure of the start time for the next day of filming until the previous day of filming is finished.
If filming wraps later than expected, they must start later the next day.
What about the LOCATION?
The exact location is given the day before the shoot for security and to protect the film. But, we will always provide the general area of filming.
Also, there is a "Holding Area" and a Set Location. Casting receives specific directions on location and parking.
The Holding area is where the actors check in, have breakfast, lunch, or snacks, and prepare before they go to set.
